Wantage Silver Band is a Registered Charity dedicated to education in music by practice and performance.

For a modest subscription anyone of any age will be taught to play an instrument and work together as a band. There are six bands to suit all abilities.

The Charity strives for the highest standard by once or twice weekly practices with experienced conductors. This approach helps sustain the Brass Band Movement which started in the UK over 150 years ago and is part of Britain’s cultural and music heritage, providing not only entertainment for the community at large, but also valuable educational and social benefits for all those who participate.

 Neil Halliday, President of the Wantage Rotary Club, presents a cheque for £1000 to Eileen Sykes as part of the proceeds from the recent Rotary Club Youth Concert at the Civic Centre.

About Us

Wantage Silver Band have been making music in Wantage, Oxfordshire and beyond since 1972.

Our 'A' Band competes in the prestigious Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
