Guides Thinking Day
The parade of the local Girl Guides and Brownies from Wantage Civic Hall to the Parish Church for their Thinking Day service on February 21st was headed by our Concert Brass band (with helpers).They also provided the music in the church, for the hymns and presentation of the Colours, and led the return parade through the market square.
'B' Band Supper Concert
Held in Stanford-in-the-Vale Village Hall, this proved the continuing popularity of the ‘Supper Concert’ format and raised about £800 for the new Bandhall fund. For the ‘B’ Band, conducted by Danny Dullforce, this was their first Concert as a Third Section Band and they amply demonstrated their prowess.
Band Hall Fund Donation From Local MP
The Wantage Silver Band's Bandhall project was given a Christmas boost by the generous donation of a personal cheque for £500 from local MP, Ed Vaizey. Shown receiving the gift are Band Chairman Eleanor Turner (right) and Bandmaster Eileen Sykes.
