A view from behind Community Brass playing in Wantage market square

Wantage Community Brass

Wantage Community Brass is a non-contesting band and was formed for players who wish to play for fun and entertain audiences. They are commonly referred to as the 'soul' of the organisation and are proud to accept anyone of any experience. Some members play a major part within WSB, including Chair and Vice-Chair, Bandmaster, Head of Media and Technical, and Secretary to the Board!

Led by John Heritage, the band meet twice weekly with one of their rehearsals taking place during the day, which many of the members enjoy.

The band performs lots of classic brass band repertoire and enjoy putting on their popular supper concerts, taking part in many carolling engagements each December and performing at lots of fetes and community events throughout the year.
