Wantage Silver BandWhit Friday Marches
A mixed band once again travelled to Yorkshire for the annual Whit Friday marches at the villages around Saddleworth. The first picture shows them leading the Greenfield Methodist Church contingent on the early morning parade.
Later in the day they entered four contests, playing the march "The Cossack" at Greenacres, Lydgate, Greenfield and Dobcross, where they ended up at 10.30p.m. (second picture). The various adjudicators made appreciative and critical comments, generally placing them midway down the 60+ entries.

Our 'A' Band competes in the prestigious Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
