Tugwell Field Community Centre and Bandhall Agreement to Build and Lease

Tugwell Field Lease

The Vale of White Horse District Council has given Wantage Silver Band the use of Tugwell Field at a peppercorn rent,so the Band just has to raise money for the building.  The Band has been homeless since 2003 and a new home is needed! 

 

Planning Permission for an oak framed building was granted in 2008 and the Band has raised over £150,000 - however another £150,000 is needed for Phase 1 of the building to begin.  Access from the A417 has already been provided.  The above photo (courtesy of Oxford Mail) shows Councillor Jenny Hannaby, who has worked hard to secure the Agreement to Build and Lease with Band members on the Tugwell Field site, which is a perfect location just on the outskirts of Wantage by the A417 near the Lord Nelson pub.
