Marching Workshop

On Sunday 20th September, over 60 members of the Wantage Band were entertained to a Marching Workshop given by the Band of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) at their Arborfield headquarters. Instruction was given in playing a march and marching in step - then both together. The players were taught the techniques of starting, stopping, counter-marching, wheeling - and the 'bomb burst', a special display. We were honoured that the full REME band was turned out to provide a super display that showed us all how it should be done - and finally we were all treated to a barbecue.

 

Our great thanks go to the Officers and players of the REME band for putting on such a great Workshop.
