Witney Carnival

Afraid its raining again.....

On the edge of a rain sodden park, a mixed band gathered in the rain for the annual Witney Carnival.  Splashing through the puddles, but getting wetter as they went, the band marched in the parade through the streets of Witney, followed by the fire engine who cleverly joined in with some of the pieces.

The weather did eventually dry, but not until the march had finished.  Never mind there were many appreciative Witney spectators, who themselves braved the rain to see the parade.  Well done everyone.

(A word of appreciation too to the lady in the lovely costume who preceded us)

Wantage Silver Band has been making music in Wantage, Oxfordshire and beyond since 1972.

Our 'A' Band competes in the prestigious Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
