Market Stall, Youth Band and Trainer Band 2011

Annual Event

Saturday 4th June saw the opening of the Wantage Summer Festival. This year the Band also held their market stall event on the same day. Both Trainer Band and Youth Band played in the sunshine and helped to attract customers to the stall.  Both Band’s performances received many complementary remarks.   Particularly of note was Youth Band causing quite a stir with their brilliant rendition of MacArthur Park and Trainer Band demonstrating how they warm up before playing formally.  As Roger  Middlebrook (the Youth Band’s conductor) couldn’t be with us for this event, Adam Taylor kindly took the baton

Wantage Silver Band have been making music in Wantage, Oxfordshire and beyond since 1972.

Our 'A' Band competes in the prestigious Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
