Wantage Silver BandArmed Forces Day
Saturday 27th June was nationally-designated Armed Forces Day, and the Wantage Band had the honour of leading the Wantage parade. The parade formed up outside the Parish Church for the National Anthem, the Oration and The Last Post and Reveille (played by Steve Chapman). After a deft bit of countermarching the parade re-formed and returned to the Civic Hall through the Market Square where the salute was taken by Lieutenant General The Hon. Sir Thomas Boyd-Carpenter KBE. The band then provided music while refreshments were taken in the Civic Hall.

Our 'A' Band competes in the prestigious Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
