Wantage Silver 'B' Band

As a new venture to accomodate WSB expansion, 'B' Band was split into two separate parts in January, 2006 (see the 'NEWS' page), incorporating a mix of previous 'B' Band players and several of the more experienced players from Youth Band and improving trainees. One part, the "Contest Band", has retained the 'B' Band title and will concentrate on appropriate contest entries, particularly the annual 4th Section of the National Championships. This group is conducted by Danny Dullforce (pictured below), returning to WSB after gaining valuable conducting experience elsewhere. The picture above shows the band (with a few substitutes) taking shelter from the sun at a fete engagement in June.

The other group, the "Concert Band", will lean towards developing a repertoire of general music, to be performed at concert and fete engagements during the year.
